Rutabaga Soup

Ingredients

1 small onion thinly sliced

2 tablespoons butter

1 1/2 cups Chicken broth

1/4 teaspoon celery salt

1/2 tablespoon salt

1 dash pepper

1 1/2 cups milk

1 cup light cream

bacon bits


Directions

Saute onion in butter. Add rutabaga, chicken broth, cook until very soft. Press through sieve or puree. Add celery salt, salt pepper and milk. Simmer, covered 15 minutes. Add cream and heat through, but do not boil. Serve hot, sprinkle with nutmeg, bacon bits or toasted croutons.
