Shortening Bread

Ingredients

1/2 c Sugar

2 c Flour

2 -(up to)

1 c Butter (no substitute!)

3 tb Honey

Directions

Cream butter and sugar. Slowly stir in flour. Press into 8-inch pan and bake at 375 for 35- 40 minutes. Top while warm with honey. This is most assuredly NOT shortening bread. Why do I say this? Because it does not contain SHORTENING! "Butter: No Substitute" means this is a recipe for "Shortbread", not "Shortening Bread". What's the difference? Shortening bread is what the poor made, Short Bread is what the rich made. They taste very differently.
