Directions

1 Peel onions, leaving the root ends intact. Wash and scrub the potatoes well. 2 Place the chicken in 4.5 litre slow cooker; place carrots, swede and onion around the chicken. add the bay leaf, thyme and peppercorn; top with the potatoes. Pour the water into the cooker. Cook covered, on low, 8 hours 3 Serve chicken and vegetables with a little of the broth, sprinkle with extra thyme
