Swedish Christmas Glogg

Adapted from a recipe, 1992...this is the Swedish Christmas Eve drink

Ingredients

3 cups vodka

750 ml burgundy

3/4 cup Raisins

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 Tbs black cardamom seeds

1/2 tsp Cloves

2 sticks cinnamon

1 small piece lemon peel

3/4 cup slivered almonds

cheesecloth for spices


Directions

Pour half of vodka and all of the burgundy into a large saucepan. Add raisins and sugar. Tie spices in the cheesecloth and drop in. Cover pan, bring very slowly to boil, let simmer for 30 mins. Add remaining vodka and the almonds and serve
