Directions

To make these and not scorch your friends mouth off you can calm the heat of the peppers by doing the following. Put on a pair of latex gloves if you have them. Cut the peppers in half, remove the seeds and any white fleshy parts. Scrap the insides to remove some of the pepper membrane. Soak peppers in a bowl of ice cubes and water. The longer you soak the less heat with be left. I soak mine for 3-4 hours. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl. Add the cheese, red onion, egg, cream cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, and salt and pepper, to taste. Press into jalapeno halves. Wrap bacon around peppers, secure with toothpicks. Place on parchment lined baking sheet. Bake until golden and bubbly and bacon is nice and brown, about 30 minutes.
