Blend in stock pot. Then stir in 10 cups water. Cook and stir until thick. Then add:
3 tblspoon lemon juice
3 drops yellow food coloring
3 teaspoon lemon peel
Peel and slice apples. Put into cooked mixture. heat well. Pack into Hot quart bottles with 2" head space. Hot water bath for 20 minutes. Once quart make 1 9" pie. To make pie place filling in uncooked pie crust, dot filling with butter cover with another pie crust and bake at 400 for 50 minutes.
I think I used 1/2 bushel apples, Golden delicious. Keep adding apples to syrup so it is not runny. add as many that will fit in stock pot.
