Ingredients

1/2 pound Butter softened, not runny

1/4 cup Finely chopped onions

1 tablespoon poppy seed

1 tablespoon mustard seed

1 tablespoon prepared mustard

8 slices ham cut in half

8 slices swiss cheese (Kraft) cut into triangles (halves)

1 large loaf French bread slashed almost through at 1 inch intervals, 16 slices


Directions

Add onions, poppy seed, mustard seed, and mustard to butter. Whip until mixed. Spread (liberally) butter mixture onto each side of each slice of bread. Add 1 piece ham and 1 piece cheese to each slice. Wrap loaf in heavy foil that has butter spread onto it, refrigerate or freeze. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 min if refrigerated or up to 1 hr 15 min if frozen. To serve, cut slices through.
