Brussels Sprouts Leaves with Bacon

Ingredients

Salt

1/2 c Onion diced

1 tb olive oil

2 Pieces bacon or Pancetta

1/4 c White wine water or chicken stock

1 pt Fresh Brussels sprouts

Black Pepper freshly ground


Directions

Cut out the stems and separate the sprouts into leaves. Thinly slice the tightly compact centers. Saute some diced onion and pancetta or bacon in olive oil until softened. Add the sprout leaves, season with salt, and moisten with a little white wine, water or chicken stock. Cover and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, until tender. I don't like brussel sprouts, but my husband does, so i tought i would try something new for Christmas. I made these and i thought i would just try a little bite and i really liked them. I would definatly make this again.
