Buttermilk biscuits

Ingredients

2 Cups

1/4 Cup

4 tablespoons

1 tablespoon

1/2 teaspoon

3/4 Cup

1/2 cup coarsely shredded

1/8 Teaspoon (optional)


Directions

Mix the dry ingredients and cut in the cold butter until the consistency of corn meal. If desired, add coarsely shredded cheese and 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper. Mix in the buttermilk and kneed briefly. Roll 1" thick and cut with a wine glass. Bake at 425 for 18 minutes.
