Cherry Dump Cake

I used to make this often when we were camping. It is quick, easy and tasty pretty good too. Can't ask for better than that.

Ingredients

24 ounces Cherry pie filling as required

21 ounces Pineapple canned, light syrup pack

1 box Yellow cake mix as required

1/2 cup Walnuts chopped

3 tbsp Butter as required


Directions

Place cherry pie filling in 2 qt casserole. Place pineapple on top (undrained) sprinkle with nuts. Cover fruit evenly with cake mix. Dot with butter. Bake ~~at; 350 for about 40 minutes. Cake will be crispy. Apple filling may also be used.

Used jars of cherries instead of pie filling. Tasted great!

Easy and fun to experiment with different fillings. Tried apple which was very good. Cake mix does not combine during baking so I used butter spray to "coat" the top. Also added the butter pats. That seemed to seal in the flavor better.

I've been making this recipe for over 10 years. Its cheap, simple & awesome!!!!!!!
