Corn Chowder

I add cooked sausage to this sometimes for added bulk and spice.

Ingredients

5 slices bacon

2 cups milk

1 dash pepper

2-3 medium potatoes pared & diced

1/2 cups water

1 t salt

1 medium onion chopped

1 can cream style corn

1 can corn drained


Directions

In large saucepan, cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, crumble and set aside. Reserve 3T bacon drippings in saucepan, discard remainder. Add onion to saucepan and cook until lightly browned. Add diced potatoes and water. Cook over medium heat until potato is tender (10-15 minutes). Add corn, milk, salt and pepper. Cook until heated through. Top each serving with bacon and butter if desired.
