1. Combine corn and red pepper in a bowl. Add flour, salt and baking powder. Stir in egg yolks and Tabasco.
2. in another bowl, beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold into corn mixture.
3. in a tall 3 quart pot, heat one inch of oil to 375. Drop fritter mixture by tablespoon into hot oil, but do not crowd. Fry until golden on the underside, about 2 minutes. Turn fritters over and brown the other side, another 2 minutes. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
