Creamy Fettucine Alfredo

Really quick and simple pasta dish made famous by Alfredo the Roman restaurateur. Great for when you're in a hurry.

Ingredients

50 grams Butter

200 ml Heavy (double) cream (Optional)

50 grams Parmesan cheese grated

350 grams Fettucine/tagliatelle pasta

Salt and pepper to taste


Directions

1) Bring large pan of water to the boil and add pasta. Cook according to instructions on packet. 2) While pasta is cooking, gently melt butter in a large pan. Add cream and then bring to the boil, simmering for about 5 mins. Add Parmesan, salt and pepper and remove from heat. 3) Once pasta is cooked drain and add into sauce over a low heat. Toss until pasta is evenly coated. 4) Serve with black pepper and extra Parmesan to taste.
