After doing this every morning for years, here is what I know about the easiest and tastiest way to cook multi-grain cereal. The cinnamon has its own health benifits and the penut butter adds a richer flavor.
1 dab Peanut butter good stuff, like "Adam's" (optional)
sweetener to taste
Directions
Lehi Roller Mills makes good grains, or try Dee's Cereal from Macey's
In a regular soup bowl, measure cereal and water. Cook in microwave for 1 minute. Stir in milk, salt and cinnamon. Cook another minute in microwave. Stir to distribute heat. Stir in a small dab of peanut butter, if desired. Cook a third minute in microwave then stir again. If cereal has boiled up, and has thickened, you may be done. If not, keep heating for 30 second intervals, alternating with stirring. (It is very easy to boil cereal over, but once you know your microwave, it is the same everytime.)
Add a packet of splenda, or sugar if you must, and enjoy. The health benifits of this type of cereal, every morning, is well documented.
