Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

1 7 ounce package Elbow Macaroni Noodles

2 tablespoons margarine or butter

1 small onion chopped

2 tablespoons flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 cups milk

8 ounces Cheddar cheese shredded


Directions

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cook macaroni as directed on package. Hear margarine in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion in margarine about 3 minutes. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese until melted. Add macaroni and stir until coated. Pour into ungreased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Bake about 30 minutes or until bubbly and light brown.
