Program machine according to manufacturers directions for basic loaf of bread, medium darkness. Makes 1 loaf, 1 1/2 pounds, 16 slices. Per slice: 88 calories, 0.33g fat, no cholesterol, 1.2g fiber, 134mg sodium. Calories from fat: 3%. TESTED* by Sheri Beronja-Schlitt. "I was afraid the texture would be bad because of the lack of fat," she wrote. "I was wrong. The bread was flavorful and richly textured. The top was flat, rather than rounded. The crust was wonderful, lightly crispy. Our kids do not like the thick crust that develops in a bread maker -- this crust they ate. It was easy to prepare and tasty. Our family gobbled up the entire 1 1/2 pound loaf at one meal."
