Skipped toasting and buttering, just sauteed veggies in butter, added broth and herbs, then mixed with bread cubes directly in the greased pan before baking. Super simple

Hard to say this was anything special. Lots of bread stuffing and not much else to go with it. Needed more fixings in my opinion.

This is amazingly Fantastic. I made the servings for 8. This is the first time I have made stuffing from scratch . I changed the process though to make it a true Mom’s stuffing. And it tasted really great.dried the Italian bread in my oven ( which I did not turn on) for three days and on the day before I baked it I made it for company/ guests we were having over the next day .I cut the bread slices into bite sized cubes and put them in a big mixing bowl and set that aside and took a small pot/ butter melting pot and melted the 6 tablespoons of butter and poured that over and stirred it to coat the bread cubes and set that aside and took a medium saucepan and sautéed the celery and onion in that with butter and that took the strong smell out of the onion then to that I added the chicken broth and seasoning spices and stirred that all together and let that go for five minutes and when that was done I poured that over the bread cubes and found it was not enough chicken broth so I warmed some more and that was better. Then I put it in a buttered casserole dish and put it in the refrigerator and baked it the following evening to go with the rest of our dinner. I baked it covered but it was not golden brown on top so I put it back in the oven until it was golden brown and a little crunchy and still a soft the way I like it then we ate it with the rest of our dinner and our company loved it and I had a little left over for the next day . It even tasted amazing warmed up the next day. No more stove top stuffing for us. I have found my new favorite stuffing. I do not mind drying the bread over night or doing anything else that I did when I changed the process for this recipe either . With a little tweaking of the process it came out as I said in the beginning of this review amazingly Fantastic.
