Preheat oven to 200 C.
Beat egg whites and salt for 45 second or until peaks form.
Continue beating, gradually adding sugar over the next 4 minutes.
Fold in cornflour and vanilla.
Place mixture onto foil and form one 20 cm circle or multiple smaller circles.
Slide onto hot tray, straight from the oven.
Reduce oven temperature immediately to 130 C and bake 1 3/4 hours.
Remove from oven to cool, although for a crisper crust, leave in oven to cool.
Pile with whipped cream and decorate with fruit.
