This is based on a recipe I found in a church cookbook.
Category: Soups, Stews and Chili
Cuisine: American
2 pounds Stew meat I cut mine up a little smaller because it seems to get tender faster
1/4 cup flour place in ziploc baggie
1/2 teaspoon salt place in baggie with flour
1/2 teaspoon pepper place in baggie with flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon granulated beef bouillon optional
2 14.5 ounce cans stewed tomatoes
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 large onion chopped
3 potatoes cubed
8 whole baby carrots or one or two regular sized slice
1 rib celery chopped
Boyfriend and father in law loved it so recipe itself is good, i’m just not a huge fan of tomato beef stew
katrinaingramThis was yummy! I’m usually too lazy to brown meat for stew but the method here for browning in the oven worked great! I omitted potatoes (didn’t have any) and served over rice.
Lynn1775Husband loved it!! Made a lot for the two of us, but we did enjoy it! Added to favorites
GrammyWindythis is really good. I actually dislike beef stew, but my hubby loves it, so i make it for him on a regular basis. THIS is the FIRST beef stew that I have liked in 30 years of trying every recipe under the sun!
adacooksA good home cooked meal with very little effort involved.
