Grandma's recipe for fruit mince, adjusted over the years by Dilys

Ingredients

300 grams Sultanas

300 grams Currants

300 grams Australian Raisins

200 grams Demerara Sugar

0.5 box Suet

3 Granny Smith Apples

1 Lemon Juice and Peel

1 wine glass Rum or Brandy

2 teaspoons Cinnamon, Ground

2 teaspoons Cloves, Ground

2 teaspoons Allspice/Mixed Spice, Ground

1 teaspoon Nutmeg, Grated

1 teaspoon Ginger, Ground


Directions

Mix all ingredients together well, and leave overnight. The next day, pack into sterilised jars. Flood jar tops with brandy and seal. Makes 2x 1 litre aged jars.
