Ingredients

1 egg

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup granulated sugar

1.5 cups butter

1.5 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons milk

3.5 cups all-purpose flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream butter and sugar with mixer or egg beaters. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix flour and baking powder. With a spatula, mix flour and baking powder with creamed mixture. If you're using a cookie press, there is no need to chill. Place dough into cookie press and press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet (add sprinkles if desired). Bake for about 7 minutes or until edges are lightly brown. If you will be using cookie cutters or just rolling the dough into balls, chill in fridge for about 45 minuutes. Once chilled, roll dough into balls and flatten with a fork. Or, roll out to about 1/4 of an inch and use cookie cutters. Bake for about 7 minutes, or until edges are lightly brown.

Recipe was easy and the dough tasted store bought. Finished cookies are better with frosting. I added food coloring a little late so I had a major arm workout mixing. I cut into shamrocks and rolled into coins for St. Pattys Day. Would make again since the ingrediants are always on hand.

If dough starts to get sticky, chill in the fridge for a few minutes. Decorating can be made easier by adding any food coloring in the mix or sprinkles on top of cookies before baking. [I posted this recipe.]
