AvitalBornsteinIt dint taste like a cake !! Disaster
Deep1986We have made this cake since we were little kids. Suggest add tablespoon malt vinegar and don't overmix or it will be tough and chewy. Don't let it cool in the tin or it will taste like a steamed pudding. Quick
rache65Love this recipe! I will say I do think the baking temp is a bit high, but that's easily fixable. And I top it w/marshmallow frosting, delish! MARSHMALLOW FROSTING 1 3/4 c. sugar 1/8 tsp. salt 1/2 c. water Combine and cook until syrup forms a firm ball in cold water. beat 3 egg whites until stiff. Pour hot syrup slowly over whites while beating at medium speed. As soon as all syrup is added, drop in 12 marshmallows, cut in halves, and beat at fast speed until marshmallows are dissolved. When cool, frosting will spread over 3 layers.
Grettaluetta1This cake was amazing in terms of ease of preparation and time and the ingredients are generally common household ingredients that are always on hand. However, the quality was only so-so. This is a great recipe if you're craving something sweet and only have the bare essentials on-hand.
