Ingredients

8 Tbs. butter

2 Tbs. olive oil

2 cups onions sliced

1/2 tsp. basil

1/2 tsp. thyme

1/8 tsp. oregano

Salt & pepper to taste

7 large large tomatoes cored

3 Tbs. tomato paste

1/4 cup Flour

29 ounces chicken broth

1 tsp. sugar


Directions

* Heat butter & oil. Add onions and next four ingredients. Cook until onion is soft. * Add tomatoes and paste. * Take some chicken broth and all of flour and make a paste. Add to tomato mixture. * Add remainder of chicken broth. Simmer for 30 minutes. * Cut soup through food mill. * Return to stove, add sugar. Simmer 10 minutes more.
