* Heat butter & oil. Add onions and next four ingredients. Cook until onion is soft.
* Add tomatoes and paste.
* Take some chicken broth and all of flour and make a paste. Add to tomato mixture.
* Add remainder of chicken broth. Simmer for 30 minutes.
* Cut soup through food mill.
* Return to stove, add sugar. Simmer 10 minutes more.
