Guest House Canapes Ingredients

1 pound Bacon chopped1 cup Gruyere shredded
4 ounce Mushroom diced1 cup Mayonnaise no substitutes
1 loaf White bread, thinly sliced crust removed1/4 cup Parmesan grated

Instructions for Guest House Canapes

Preheat oven to 375.

Cook bacon in pan until crisp. Remove with slotted spoon to paper towels. Discard most of bacon drippings, but keep enough to cook the mushrooms. Cook mushrooms, uncovered, until most liquid is evaporated.

Combine gruyere and mayo. Add mushrooms and bacon, combining well. Cut each bread slice into 4 triangles. Spread with mixture. Arrange on greased cookie sheet and sprinkle triangles with parmesan (a rimmed cookie sheet works best).

Bake at 375 until slightly puffed and bread is lightly toasted. Usually 8-10 minutes, but ovens vary. Do not overbake!

Await applause.
