Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 350 . Sift Flour, soda and salt together-set aside. Cream together shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Beat in flour mixture. Form into 1" balls then roll in coconut. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press thumb into center of ball and fill with jam. Bake 12 - 12 minutes or until golden brown.
