Great low fat potato dish!
1. Preheat the oven to 400F. Halve the garlic clove and rub over the base and sides of the gratin dish measuring about 8 x12" (I used 13 x 9 pan).
2. Slice the potatoes very thinly and arrange a third of them in the dish. Sprinkle with a little grated cheese, salt and pepper. pour over some of the broth to prevent the potatoes from discoloring.
3. Continue layering the potatoes and cheese as before, then pour over the rest of the broth. Sprinkle with the grated nutmeg.
4. Bake in the oven for 1?-1? hours or until the potatoes are tender and the top is well browned.
Variation
For a potato and onion gratin, thinly slice one medium onion and layer with the potato.
