Original recipe makes 6
1 headcauliflower
1 bunchbroccoli
3/4 cupmayonnaise, either light or regular
1 cancream of mushroom soup
3/4 cupsharp cheddar cheese; grated
1 egg; beaten
1 tbsplemon juice
1 large jardiced pimentos
1/2 cupdry bread crumbs; finely crushed
2 tbspbutter; melted
1/2 cupslivered almonds

Cauliflower-Broccoli Casserole Preparation

Steam the cauliflower and broccoli until tender. Cut into bite-sized pieces.

Blend together the mayonnaise, cream of mushroom soup, sharp cheddar cheese, egg, lemon juice and pimentos.

Spoon all of the ingredients into a buttered casserole dish.

Mix the dried bread crumbs and melted butter. Pour over the cauliflower/broccoli mixture. Sprinkle the slivered almonds over the mixture.

Cover casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
