Ready in 40 minutes
A great tasting alternative to a cheeseburger. It's baked in a pie pan and oh so yummy!
Note for international cooks -- "Bisquick" is a product sold in North America that is a dry-goods, flour, leavening and dried shortening combination.
"Great recipe! I had all the ingredients and I even added my own little spices and flavoring. However, I did not have a pie plate so instead I made little mini cheeseburger cupcakes. I broiled the tops and they turned out delicious"- OohLaLa86

PREP TIME: 15 min BAKE TIME: 25 min TOTAL TIME: 40 min
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate. In a medium skillet, cook the beef and onion until beef is browned; drain. Spread in pie plate; sprinkle with cheese and salt.
Stir in remaining ingredients until blended. Pour into pie plate and bake for 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for about 5 minutes.
HIGH ALTITUDE: (3500-6500 ft) Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
I prefer to use Heart Smart Bisquick to save calories..eliminate the salt, use seasoned frozen onions and add some ketchup on top for flavor just before serving.

cogramma 2 years agoFor anyone that isn't familiar with what Bisquick is? This is a baking mix by Betty Crocker. Hope this helps!! And I would use mild Italian sausage in the future if you don't want it to be too bland or feel free to add your own spice choices.
Rosiesam 2 years agoI'm in uk what is Bisquick? Sorry about rating won't let me comment unless I rate, can't make till I know what this ingredient is!

brandirenee89 2 years agoPretty good. Reminded me a tiny bit of meatloaf which I don't like, though. I doubled the bisquick to make the topping seem more like a hamburger bun. I will make this again.
V77 2 years agoLove this recipe! I've made a couple variations of it, but this is a great base. I add bell peppers, chopped banana pepper, & garlic. This is def one of my fav's!
Forhowmuch 3 years agoThis was a bit bland. I'd make it again, but I'd add some flavor. Instead of using ground beef, I think I'll use breakfast sausage.
