Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie

Recipes »  Main Dish  »  Casseroles

A great tasting alternative to a cheeseburger. It's baked in a pie pan and oh so yummy!

Note for international cooks -- "Bisquick" is a product sold in North America that is a dry-goods, flour, leavening and dried shortening combination.

"Great recipe! I had all the ingredients and I even added my own little spices and flavoring. However, I did not have a pie plate so instead I made little mini cheeseburger cupcakes. I broiled the tops and they turned out delicious.

Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie Preparation

PREP TIME: 15 min BAKE TIME: 25 min TOTAL TIME: 40 min

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate. In a medium skillet, cook the beef and onion until beef is browned; drain. Spread in pie plate; sprinkle with cheese and salt.

Stir in remaining ingredients until blended. Pour into pie plate and bake for 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for about 5 minutes.

HIGH ALTITUDE: (3500-6500 ft) Bake 30 to 35 minutes.

Notes

I prefer to use Heart Smart Bisquick to save calories..eliminate the salt, use seasoned frozen onions and add some ketchup on top for flavor just before serving.

My kids loved it! I seasoned the meat with seasoned salt, pepper and garlic powder while it was browning...next time I may use taco seasoning... Great recipe just to have...

This was pretty good. Easy to make & filling. It just didn't have a whole lot if flavor to me. Good recipe to have when you need a quick meal. Will definitely up the spices next time.

It was delicious and so easy to make. I made sure to season my meat and onions with pepper, season salt, garlic powder, and parsley flakes. I also doubled the bisquick mix. This recipe has been added to my favorites.

I thought it was wonderful. However I added one can of Cream of Mushroom Soup undiluted before the cheese. Turned out great. Will add to my Favorites :)

Very good! My picky 3-year old even loved it! Could use a bit more flavor, next time will try with sausage or adding some bacon.

Also good substituting ground turkey or chicken for a slightly healthier version.

Def will want to season the beef. Great recipe otherwise.

For anyone that isn't familiar with what Bisquick is? This is a baking mix by Betty Crocker. Hope this helps!! And I would use mild Italian sausage in the future if you don't want it to be too bland or feel free to add your own spice choices.

Pretty good. Reminded me a tiny bit of meatloaf which I don't like, though. I doubled the bisquick to make the topping seem more like a hamburger bun. I will make this again.

Love this recipe! I've made a couple variations of it, but this is a great base. I add bell peppers, chopped banana pepper, & garlic. This is def one of my fav's!

This was a bit bland. I'd make it again, but I'd add some flavor. Instead of using ground beef, I think I'll use breakfast sausage.

It was easy to make. My three year old liked it. We used our homemade better than bisquick mix.
