"It's wonderful!!! But a bit too rich for this lactose intolerant chick! Next time, I think I'll use half and half or even milk along with the sweetened condesed. "

1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk; 14 oz; Carnation best

1 teaspoon Vanilla extract; real
3/4 teaspoon Almond extract; real

Servings

Preparation

In a blender, combine heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, Irish whiskey, instant coffee, chocolate syrup, vanilla extract, and almond extract.

Blend on high for 20 to 30 seconds.

Store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator.

Shake well before serving or re-decanting.

Notes

The most important flavor ingredient is the whiskey -- stick with Jameson's Irish Whisky.

Folger's Decaf and Carnation Sweetened Condensed Milk likewise give the best flavor results.

If the mixture is too thick (it IS thick), you can add a few splashes of half-and-half, but do not substitute the heavy cream, as it is essential on its own.

I have made this recipe as written above, but used Fat-Free Half n Half and Fat-Free BORDEN'S Sweetened Cond Milk. I keep instant coffee on hand just for this recipe (any kind, as it does not make the finish product any better using a brand name coffee). Although my recipe is fat-free, it isn't CALORIE-free, but can be called low-fat. To me, what is essential is using Irish Whiskey (I have used Bourbon before and it is terrible!!!!) and the vanilla and almond extracts. Our whole family loves this and prefers the 'fat-free' version over the 'heavy cream' version, as the 'heavy cream' version is too thick and rich.

Used half and half instead of heavy cream and regular coffee sorry Bailey's homemade is better
