"Oh oh oh this is THE best chocolate cake I have ever had. Oodles of work, but worth it. I recommend doing it over two days. Bake the cakes, then do the rest the second day. Most important: let those layers cool COMPLETELY before you add the whipped cream filling or it will just melt into nothing on the cake. Chill the filling well before spreading it, for the same reason. Careful, it will become a heavily requested item! Great for giving a loving gift to the chocoholic who has everything." - xanna

Cake is great. Icing is like slip and slide. Do not use this icing if you have any intention of keeping the 2 layers together.

Made it for my sons birthday. We all loved it. Absolutely the best chocolatey chocolate cake I've ever made. Added Jaffa cake layer in middle of mix before baking. Lovely.

moist and delicious. half a tsp of baking powder worked for me as did cooking it for a little bit longer at a lower heat. fyi enough frosting to do sides as well as top

Best chocolate cake ever! I've made this recipe twice for my family and they loved it. Instead of raspberries like in the picture I use strawberry halves in a circle around the top and sliced strawberries in the middle with the whipped cream filling. I wish you'd correct the baking powder error though. Since you didn't say how much I just put in half a teaspoon. It was perfect!

This was the worst cake i ever made... It came out looking like rubber inside... It was baked alk the way so i think something went wrong along the way.. Also there should be a more descriptive prep

How much baking powder should be used! Can't wait to try it!!

Instead of having the whipped cream filling I'd make more frosting and put that in the middle instead

It's a very good recipe but for the frosting I would use a cup of melted chocolate chips and two packs of cream cheese!
