Perfect for any chocolate lover.
Brownie:
Cream together sugar and butter. Add flour, eggs, chocolate syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly. Pour batter into greased 10.5 X 14.75 baking dish. Bake at 350(F) degrees for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. (can also bake brownies in a jelly roll pan) Cool to room temperature before applying frosting.
Frosting:
In a saucepan, combine sugar and butter and bring to a boil over medium heat. (stir frequently)
When mixture achieves a full boil, let it stay there for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips. Stir continuously until it begins to thicken. Add vanilla and continue to stir until desired spreading consistency is reached and frosting has cooled to a workable temperature. (should be warm to the touch, but not hot) Pour over brownies, and spread with a spatula.
I sometimes place the saucepan in cold water while stirring the frosting to help reduce the temp. If by chance, the frosting thickens too much before its temperature lowers, add 1 tbsp of milk and whisk.
