This was one of those "OMG, people are coming over for dinner... what do I have left in the kitchen!" inventions. I found the tart cups on special in the bakery section of the supermarket, and had the cooking chocolate in the back of the fridge and cherries in a jar in the dark recesses of my cupboard. The recipe evolved from an initial idea of making truffle tarts, to something even more tasty and impressive.
I've found this to be a perfect 'seduction' dessert... it's rich, sensual and looks like took hours to create. In reality, there is about 10min prep time, which means you can get the bases ready and then get on with sharing a nice glass of red and the mains with your true love.
