Defrost hashbrowns.
Combine butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, salt and pepper and mix with hashbrowns.
Spread over 3 qt. casserole dish.
Sautée cornflakes in butter and spread over top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
