Canned ham, chopped Cooked broccoli
Cooked chicken/turkey,choped COOKED STARCH/1 1/2 TO 2 CUP
Canned luncheon meat Noodles
Cooked beef, veal, lamb or Macaroni
Hard cooked eggs Rice
Frankfurters Potatoes
Cheese Spaghetti
Canned tuna OR salmon Corn
SAUCE 1 CAN CONDENSED SOUP Sweet potatoes
Cream of Celery soup & milk TOPPING 1/3 TO 3/4 CUP
Cream of chicken soup and Crushed potato chips
Cream of potato soup and Fresh bread crumbs mixed
Cream of mushroom soup and French=fried onion rings
Tomato juice Crushed cornflakes
Cheddar cheese soup and Grated cheese
Tomato soup and water Slightly crushed potato
COOKED VEGETABLES/1 1/2 CUP Slivered almonds
Sauteed onions, green pepper Cracker crumbs
Cooked or canned green beans OPTIONAL
Cooked or canned peas Salt and pepper to taste
Cooked or canned carrots Other seasonins to taste
Cooked or canned asparagus

Instructions for Create Your Own Casserole

Taylor who got this from Sherry Pinamonti in the Feb. 1996 cookbook swap. This recipe was adapted by permission from The Richmond/Va./News Leader. With a variety of canned and packaged foods and a few leftovers in your refrigerator, you can create a casserole in minutes. Mix and match one ingredient from each category to suit your taste and supplies you have on hand. Choose selections that enhance each other. Layer all ingredients except topping in a greased 2 quart casserole dish, adding salt and other seasonings to taste. Bake at 350~ until hot thorugh for 20 to 25 minutes. First of all, the formatting of the recipe is terrible. Second, the recipe was watery (the only liquid I used was cream of celery soup and a can of milk. (I drained the canned green beans.) MAYBE if I'd used a 3-quart casserole and used UNcooked noodles, not drained the green beans, and baked it three or four time more than the recipe called for ... maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't have been so watery. I downloaded it, and I deleted it.
