This is the peanut butter cookie my Mom and Grandma used to make. It's still one of my favorite cookies. When these sweet, salty morsels of happiness come out of the oven, they are just as good today as they were when I was a kid. The recipe originally appeared on the Skippy peanut butter label in the early 1950's. It produces cookies that are golden brown with wonderful flavor and a light crispiness that melts in your mouth. Basically, it's everything you would expect a good peanut butter cookie to be.
Cuisine: American Main Ingredient: Peanut Butter
mrsanthony10 ,Yummy recipe kids always want to help and we make them often. I've also started making them with Ideal sugar so they are safer for me to eat (I'm a diabetic)12y
jejluvmykids ,Absolutely delicious!!! Best PB cookie recipe I've tried. The whole family loves them. Thank you for sharing.12y
westhri ,Modified the recipe. Instead of using a cup of peanut butter, I used a half cup of peanut butter and a half cup of Nuttell. I also cupped up mixed nuts with a little sugar and brown sugar and dipped the cookies after they chilled. Amazing.12y
rawkes ,These cookies are great! Chilling the dough is highly recommended, unless chewy dough really isn't your thing.12y
eyesopenwide ,A wonderful recipe! Baking directions are spot on! My family loves these and this is definitely my new "go to" PB Cookie recipe. Awesome post!!!13y
mrschandon ,Easy and great! Will make again & again. Added milk chocolate chips to half the batch.13y
neneloco83 ,I made these cookies and the came out PERFECT!!!!! Not to much peanut butter taste. Just right.13y
ettabakes ,These cookies are outstanding! I used the directions for the chewy variation and could not be happier with the wonderfully delicious results.13y
adw899 ,Good peanut butter cookies. I used butter and shortening as the recipe says, chilled the dough overnight. I made about 2 dozen cookies with a cookie cutter from rolled out dough for about 9 minutes in baking time. Froze the rest of the dough for next time.13y
hallosev2 ,This is an excellent recipe, thanks in large part to the detail in the instructions. I say that as an infrequent baker!13y
piginablanket ,This was delicious and worth the effort to make it. Hey Ron and Rob it taste just like them school cookies!13y
flareless ,I use only butter, no shortening and I skip the chilling. I also don't roll them in the extra 1/3 cup of surgar. I made them with Kraft Smoothy peanut butter last time and today I'm trying it with Crunchy. This is a great recipe which I highly recommend13y
alamorayne ,I made these skipping the chilling part. I rolled them into balls and then rolled them into a mixture of sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon then baked them. Oh I also added a bit of cinnamon in the mix. My husband absolutely loved them and brought a batch to work!13y
grammadeedee ,DeLish!!!! I didn't chill the dough. I used butter, no shortening. and I always use parchment paper. I played around with the cook time and found my oven needed 11 minutes to produce a perfect cookie!13y
cheffiegel ,Really...I made a double batch and the family did enjoy snacking on these for days. I thought they were a bit high maintence with the chilling of the dough and the pans.13y
