This is a wonderful old recipe that is fun for guests if you live in an area where you can go get them yourselves. Or just down to your local market.
In large saucepan or stockpot, heat Italian dressing and cook shallots over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes or until tender. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, then simmer covered 4 minutes or until mussel shells open. (Discard any unopened shells.) Serve, if desired, with Italian or French bread.
Makes about 3 main dish or 6 appitizer servings.
