These are a thin and crispy sugar cookies that are great for decorating.
Mix sugar and butter. Add egg and flavorings; mix until thoroughly blended. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into butter mixture. Refrigerate dough 2-3 hours. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
For Rolled Cookies: Roll dough on lightly floured pastry cloth to 1/4" thickness. Cut with cookie cutters.
Sprinkle with sugar; place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7-8 minutes.
For Drop Cookies: Roll dough into small balls. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen.
