My Favorite desert, I love it so much I only make it for the holidays because I can eat an entire pan in a day if not careful. People beg me for these throughout the year but it gives me something to look forward too.

7 layer Cookies (bars) Preparation

This is a recipe handed down through my family I am typing it as it is hand written on th card from my great grandmother. After I have finished listing it as she wrote it down I will the add the changes I've made to it and you can decide which way to try it.

1. Pre heat oven to 325

2. Melt butter in 9x13 pan

3. Sprinkle gram cracker crumbs on butter evenly (making a crust)

4. Make a layer of Coconut

5. Layer of Butterscotch Chips

6. Layer of Chocolate Chips

7. Dribble Condensed Milk over top making sure to cover entire pan

8. Sprinkle nuts on top

9. Bake at 325 for 25 minutes.

Do not over bake.

My Changes

I know several people with allergies to nuts so I will often make this without nuts and instead use white chocolate chips as well

When I do make this with nuts Walnuts give it a more grounded taste as this is SUPER sweet.

I tend to mix the chips and the coconut together instead of making layers I find this helps keep the bars together better.

Notes

For people with an allergy to one of the ingredients just replace that ingredient

Make small pieces of this as it is very sweet and either goes very quickly or is too sweet for certain people

The Bags should be 12oz for the chips and the Chocolate Chips should be Semi-sweet. I'm sorry this is not in the recipe but I accidentally hit send and it won't let me edit the recipe.
