Suggest a better descriptionBring a large pot of water to a boil. Salt generously.
In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, garlic and red pepper flakes. Gradually whisk in the sesame and vegetable oils and set aside.
Add the soba noodles to the pot of boiling water and cook for 2 minutes. Add the asparagus to the pot and continue to boil until the noodles are al dente, about 2 minutes more. Pour the noodles and asparagus into a colander and rinse them under cold running water until the noodles are cool to the touch.
Transfer noodles and asparagus to a large serving bowl, toss with the dressing, almonds and edamame. Season with pepper and serve.
