400 degrees for 20 mins
In main mixing bowl, combine first 4 ingredients. In small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let dissolve. To main mixing bowl, add 4 cups of flour and mix well. Add yeast to mixture and mix again. Gradually add more flour until the dough clings to the dough hooks and cleans the sides of the bowl. Let dough rise until double (about an hour). Punch dough down and divide in half. Roll out each section in long rectangle then roll up like a jelly roll. Cut slits in top and let raise until double (about an hour). Bake at 400 for 20 mins or until golden. Brush with butter for a soft crust.
Getting the correct amount of flour is the key to success. If the water is not the right temperature, the yeast won't be able to do it's job. As you bake it, watch it towards the end because every oven is different and the last thing you want is burnt offerings.
