This is a very easy recipe to make and most people don't know that anchovy paste is a main ingredient!
1. CREAM TOGETHER BUTTER, ANCHOVY PASTE, GARLIC AND GROUND GREEN PEPPERCORNS.
2. SLICE BAGUETTE INTO 1/2" ROUNDS. SPREAD ONE SIDE OF EACH ROUND W/ANCHOVY BUTTER. PLACE SLICES BUTTERED SIDE UP ON A BAKING SHEET.
3. PUT BAKING SHEET ON BOTTOM RACK OF 500F OVEN. WATCH CAREFULLY. REMOVE WHEN TOASTED ON TOP.
4. TOP EACH PIECE OF BAGUETTE TOAST & SERVE AT ONCE.
TOPPING SUGGESTIONS (TOAST SHOULD BE FRESH FROM OVEN & HOT):
1. A ROW OF THINLY SLICED FRESH RED CHERRY TOMATO SPRINKLED W/FRESH MINCED CHIVES.
2. THINLY SLICED SMALL BUTTON MUSHROOMS sauteED IN OLIVE OIL W/FRESH MINCED GARLIC; THEN ADD A SPLASH OF GOOD BURGUNDY (1 OZ) TO PAN & LET THE WINE COOK OFF.
3. THIN SLICE OF ROOM TEMPERATURE GRUYERE CHEESE.
4. FENNEL SLAW SPRINKLED W/POPPY SEED. (GRATED FRESH FENNEL LIGHTLY DRESSED W/A LEMON VINAIGRETTE)
5. HUMMUS SPRINKLED W/MINCED ROASTED RED BELL PEPPER.
6. HERBED GOAT CHEESE SPRINKLED W/TOASTED SLICED ALMONDS.
7. HOT CARAMELIZED SPANISH ONIONS SPRINKLED W/MINCED FRESH FLAT LEAF PARSLEY.
8. OLIVE RELISH. (MINCED RIPE OLIVES, MINCED ROASTED RED BELL PEPPER & MINCED sauteED SHALLOTS)
9. FRESHLY GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE & A SMALL SPRINKLE OF SMOKED PAPRIKA.
10. A ROW OF THINLY SLICED FRESH YELLOW CHERRY TOMATO SPRINKLED W/CRISPY CRUMBLED BACON.
