Carlson family tradition for Christmas Eve
1. Saute onion in butter (1/4 cup), remove from pan, set aside
2. Cut up meat, flour it, brown in butter
3. Dilute consomme soup to make 2 cups
4. Add consomme mixture & salt to meat and simmer until meat is tender (3-4 hours)
5. Add onion and sour cream to mixture and heat through
6. Serve over rice
