This is a Brazilian type dish that pairs well with my recipe for Chimichuri Sauce (http://www.bigoven.com/recipe/chimichurri-sauce/1332915)
In a medium sauce pan heat 1 Tbsp olive oil over medium low heat. Add onion & garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 min. Add the beans, broth, tomatoes, pimentos, bay leaves and 1/2 tsp of the salt. Simmer on low heat 20 minutes. Remove the bay leaves.
Whole the beans are cooking rub the steaks with the remaining oil & salt + pepper. Grill or broil to taste, or 4 min on each side. Cut the steaks into thin diagonal slices.
Serve the steak over the black beans. Top with Chimichuri Sauce - my recipe is here: http://www.bigoven.com/recipe/chimichurri-sauce/1332915
This is really quick & easy and so tasty! Try topping with this Chimichuri Sauce: http://www.bigoven.com/recipe/chimichurri-sauce/1332915
