Chocolate cake made with Coca-Cola


Cake Batter:
2 cups Sugar
2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 stick margarine
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup Coke
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 Eggs; well beaten
1 stick margarine
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 pound powdered sugar

Original recipe makes 15



Mix together sugar, flour, and baking soda. Bring to boil in a saucepan 2 sticks of margarine and 3 tablespoons cocoa. Pour over dry mixture and stir until well mixed. Mix in 1 cup of Coke and 1 cup buttermilk. Add vanilla and well beaten eggs. Pour into a large rectangular Pyrex dish. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes (until toothpick comes out clean from center).


Melt margarine and cocoa. pour over powdered sugar. Add enough Coke (very little at a time) to make the right consistency for frosting.

This cake is always a huge hit! It's a heavy cake, more like a brownie in some respects. It is a very moist and wonderful taste sensation!!!

I love this recipe! Definitely one of my favorites! I make it often & everyone enjoys it! I use one 12 fl oz can of coke...most of it goes in the cake itself, a lil bit goes in the frosting, and I still have a few sips left over for myself at the end =)
