Rich, easy recipe that appeals to almost everyone.
Mix chocolate syrup, sweetened condensed milk and 1 stick butter. Bring to a boil. Simmer slowly for 5 minutes. Cool COMPLETELY and set aside.
Crush 48 chocolate sandwich cookies and mix with 3/4 stick butter. Press into bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Freeze for 30 minutes.
Spread 1/2 gallon slightly softened ice cream over cookie crust. Freeze for 45 minutes
Spread COMPLETELY COOLED chocolate sauce over the ice cream. Freeze for 45 minutes.
Cover with large whipped cream topping. If desired spread nuts, chocolate curls, etc. on top. Freeze for 30 minutes.
Cover with plastic wrap and store in freezer over night - continue to keep well frozen until served.
