French bread
Heat the water (shouldn't be too hot or it will kill the yeast) in the microwave for about 1 to 2 minutes.
In a large bowl add yeast and stir until the yeast is completely dissolved in the water.
Add half of the flour and salt to the mixture and cover with a towel for 3 hours to rise.
Add the other half of the flour and salt and need with your hands for about 5 to 10 minutes (it will still be sticky but more homogenous)
Preheat oven to 450 F and place about 2 cups of water in a metal bowl in the oven on the bottom shelf.
Lay out flour on a clean counter and add flour around a chunk of dough (about half). Begin to roll the dough like a baguette and place on a non-stick pan. Repeat with the other half of the dough.
Place the dough in the oven so that the ends are on your left and right.
After 15 minutes remove the bowl of water and continue to cook the bread for 7 - 10 more minutes.
Remove from oven and pan and allow to cool.
