These are the best - the favorite of all the kids and grandkids who fight over them and hide them from each other. Makes 4 dozen using about a tablespoon of batter per cookie
Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Blend at high speed the softened butter. Add the sugars to the butter and cream well.
Mix in eggs with butter until well mixed.
Add vanilla to butter.
Carefully mix in sifted flour to the butter at low speed. DO NOT OVER MIX - LESS IS MORE!
If batter is too firm mix in up to three drops of water to smooth.
Fold in package of chocolate chips by hand - DO NOT OVER STIR.
Spoon rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets - 12 per sheet.
Makes 4 dozen.
Delicious eaten hot from the over or frozen.
Do not skip the extra tablespoons of flour, and most important is do not over mix or over stir the flour in the butter! The batter does not need to be perfectly smooth, just mix enough to get the flour wet, and to gently fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
