Great, easy homemade apple pie; you'll love it!
Peel, core and cut apples into chunks. In a large pot, melt butter and add in sugar, extract, and spices. Stir to mix together. Once everything is incorporated into the pot, pour in the apples.
Cover and cook apples over a medium to low heat until tender, but not so long that apple pieces begin to break down. This will take about 20 to 30 minutes.
Let apple filling cool down. Then, pour into 2 pie shells and cover with pie crusts, either whole or in a lattice fashion. If you cover the whole pie, cut slits into the top layer of crusts for air vents while baking.
Bake in 450 degree oven for 45 – 50 minutes. Cool down 25 minutes before slicing.
