Crumbly light crust
Pie Crust - 2 medium size
Prepare Crust ----
Hand and fork mix together Crisco with flour, sugar and salt until crumbly
Add in vinegar and water. Refrigerate for easier rolling.
Divide mixture into 4 balls and roll out each ball on floured wax paper
If you are making the pies now, add your filling
Rub egg yoke mixture on top crust just before baking
Place crusts or pies in oven and turn down to 350
For fruit pies, bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours
Apple Pie filling for 2 large crusts -------------------------
- 7 large apples cut up
- 1/2 cup sugar (you may like 3/4 cup)
- a little flour
- 5" round of cinnamon
Don't overmix crust batter. It should be crumbly. Use a fork and hands only. Use cold ingredients.
